Louise Sherman, 80, of Boyers died at 6:25 a.m. Monday April 11, 2016 at Home 2 Me in Slippery Rock.

A daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Opat Widziszewski she was born in Monessen on March 20, 1936. 

Lou was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and outdoor activities, particularly camping and fishing or as she put it “ruffin it”                                                                                                                                                                  

She had driven school bus for 23 years.

She was a devout Catholic.

On February 12, 1955 she married Albert Sherman; he died November 21, 2002.

Surviving are a son Michael Sherman and his fiancée Dianna Habucky of Emlenton, a daughter Nancy Sherman of Boyers, 4 grandchildren Cody, Adam, Wes and Kelly, and 4 great-grandchildren Alexander, Kendrah, Mason and Jett.

On addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Lynn Smith.

Friends will be received in the Jamison funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Thursday.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery rock at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Kevin G. Poecking, presiding.

Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
