Rheta Carole Hubenthal, 84, of Harrisville passed away on January 22, 2024, at the Autumn Grove Nursing Home in Harrisville following an extended illness.
Born on August 7, 1939, Rheta was the daughter of the late Martin and Marian Peacock.
Rheta graduated from Fairview High School in Jennings, MO, and continued her education at the University of Missouri where she received her Bachelors in Library Science. Rheta worked at McDonell-Douglas Aircraft, was a birth coach at Alpha Pregnancy Services and was a Librarian at the McCormich Seminary and Mercantile Library. She also served as a missionary in Suriname, South America.
On May 15, 1970, Rheta married Karl A. Hubenthal who survives.
Rheta enjoyed traveling, Archeology, foreign food, languages, reading, art and theology. She loved raising her five children in the Lord, she was the best mom ever.
Along with her husband Rheta is survived by four of her children Karl Hubenthal of Colorado, Katrin Andersen of Wyoming, Georg Hubenthal of Georgia and Johannes Hubenthal of Georgia; her grandchildren Anneke Peterson of Wyoming, Kenai, Johannes "Hans", Aoife and Aksel all of Wyoming, Oriana, Michaiah, Roane, Lealanna, Gideon, Tobias, Vanora, Brom, Rita, Adelina, Jensen, Anaiah, Avalon, Jotham and Jorim all of Georgia and Mara and Rosalie "Zizi" of Pennsylvania; great grandchild Cylus of Wyoming. Also surviving is Rheta's sister Paulette Stanley of Pennsylvania.
Rheta was preceded in death by her parents and her son Martin Hubenthal.
A memorial service will be held at 5 P.M. on Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 140 E Poplar St, Grove City, PA, with Pastor Jeremy Jones officiating.
