Cary Hanson Obituary

Cary Dwayne Hanson, 66 of Harrisville formerly of Herminie and North Huntingdon, passed away at home October 30, 2018.

Cary was born April 28, 1952 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Donald and Jane (Leamer) Hanson.

Cary graduated from Norwin High School.  He retired from Shuster Building Components as head of the Maintenance Department.   Cary previously was employed at Carrie Furnace in Braddock. 

Cary married Loretta Hess on June 15, 1974 in the Circleville United Methodist Church, the couple celebrated 44 years of marriage.  Together the couple had two daughters Heather and Hayley.

Cary and Loretta enjoyed taking his Harley out on the road.  He was a avid outdoorsman.  He could be found fishing every chance he got.  Cary was happy to be tinkering in his garage and kept busy working on his farm equipment.  The most important thing to Cary was his family, spending time and being together brought him joy.  He also enjoyed his trains.   Before moving to Harrisville Cary was a lifetime member of Herminie Volunteer Fire Department.    He was a member of the American Legion in Harrisville as well. 

Loved ones left to cherish Cary’s memory are his wife Loretta of Harrisville, his daughters Heather Butler and her husband Greg of North Huntingdon  and Hayley Dubovsky and her husband Dave of North Huntingdon.  His grandchildren Austin Lovett, Alexis Miller, Cody Dubovsky and Ethan Dubovsky. His brother in law Richard Keeler, his niece Dawn Masisak and her husband Derrick, a nephew Ryan Keeler.  Cary’s longtime best friend Anthony “Tony”  Scozzaro and Gordon Taylor and his wife Elaine.

Cary was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Jane Hanson and sister Linda Hanson and Dayna Keller. 

Family will welcome friends at the Jamison-McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville PA on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8.  Funeral services will take place at the funeral home Monday, November 5 at 11:00 am with the Pastor Raymond Lyon officiating.
