Ellen Felix Obituary

Ellen B. Wiles Felix, 91, passed away November 3, 2018 at Orchard Manor.

Ellen was born November 9, 1926 in McJunkin Hollow Marion Twp, Butler County, she was the daughter of John and Nancy Jane “Jeannie” Hilliard Wiles. 

Ellen attended Pigsah School and the Eau Claire High School. 

Ellen married Thomas D. Felix October 8, 1945 in St. Alphonsus Pariah in Murrinsville PA, Tom passed away April 2, 2008.  Together the couple had three children Larry, Bill and Helen.   Ellen was devoted to her faith.  She attended St. Alphonsus in Murrensville and the former St. Paschal’s in Argentine.  Ellen was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City and attended mass regularly when her heath permitted.   She enjoyed watching Mass on EWTN.

Later in life she worked as a home health aide to many local families.  Ellen’s true vocation was wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Ellen shared wonderful family history involving past generations, often commenting how rich we were to have such an extended family.  She enjoyed herself at the Felix Family Reunion this past summer.   She cherished her relationships with her nieces and nephews and was pleased to have a namesake, Ellen Smail.   Ellen’s quick wit and amazing sense of humor will be dearly missed.   Ellen loved attending bingo with her friends as well. 

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children Larry “Newt” Felix and his wife Jan of Parker and  Helen “Ann” Felix of Grove City.  Ellen’s Grandchildren Thomas B. Felix and his wife Amy of Emlenton, W. Mike Felix of Harrisville, Tammy Felix of Emlenton and Larilyn Milks and her husband Steve of Emlenton.  A sister also survives Enie (Wiles) Hottel of Orchard Manor, and a sister in law Ruth Felix.  Ellen’s great grandchildren Kim and Nicole Felix, Melissa Elicker, Cody Griffin, Heather Dunkerly and her husband John, Chole Milks, Taylor Felix and two step great grandchildren Emily and Ashley Milks.  Many nieces and nephews and extended family also survive. 

Ellen was welcomed into heaven parents, husband a son Wm G. “Bill” Felix and his wife Barbara, her brothers W. Michael Wiles and his wife Laura, F. Joseph Wiles and his wife Pat and a sister Stella Evans and her husband Jim and two infant brothers John and Robert Wiles

Family will receive friends at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8, funeral service will take place Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Church of the Beloved Disciple, 1310 South Center Street Grove City PA at 10:00 am with the Father Michael Allison officiating.   

Burial will take place at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
