James Bauer Obituary

James William Bauer, 78, of Harrisville passed away peacefully December 22, 2018 at Transitions Nursing Home, Harrisville PA. 

Jim was born December 9, 1940 in Mercer Township, Butler County, he was the son of William H. and Elizabeth Pearle (Myers) Bauer.

Jim was married to Mary Morrow on August 29, 1964 at the Harmony Church in Harrisville.  Together the couple had two children Tammy and James.

Jim worked at the Cooper Bessemer.  He also logged in over a million miles driving truck.  McLean Trucking and Roadway Express were two of the trucking companies he drove for. 

Jim served his country in the US Navy.  He enlisted in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1965, reaching the rank of E-5 Petty Officer Second Class. 

Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  When Jim retired he enjoyed spending time at home with his family and his dog.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary of Harrisville, his daughter Tammy Hartman and her husband Mike of Polk.  Jim’s son James L. Bauer and his wife Lisa of Harrisville.   Jim’s grandchildren Kasia Jacobs of Dorset Ohio, Harley Moore and his wife Marisa of Clintonville and James, Skylar and Jesse Bauer all of Harrisville.  Five great grandchildren also survive.  Jim’s sisters Karen J. Holtz of Illinois and Joyce A. Zalis and her husband Joe of Florida. 

Family will welcome friends and family at Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville PA on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 10- till noon.  Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at noon following visitation with the Rev. Willard Morse officiating.  Burial will take place at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville PA. 

The family suggest in lieu of flowers a memorial donation be sent to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago IL 60601.
