Dayne W. Herr Sr., 73, of Forestville passed away unexpectedly at home August 15, 2023.
Dayne was born January 22, 1950 in Grove City. He was son of the late H. Wesley Herr and Dorothy Parnham Herr.
Dayne was married to Clara (Bo) Barbella on August 28, 1970, she passed away February 15, 2008.
Dayne graduated from the Slippery Rock High in 1967 and attended Butler Community College. He retired from General Electric in Grove City on the Turbo Line. He was employed from 1979 till 2008. He was previously employed for O.P.M in Boyers from 1970-1979.
Dayne was true Patriot, having served his country during the Vietnam War in the first signal company, US Army.
Dayne adored his grandchildren and always looked forward to seeing them and traveling with his family. He looked forward to Barbeques where everyone would be together. He was often seen at the Family Tradition in Harrisville grabbing breakfast or out for a ride on his Harley Road King. Dayne kept a garden to provide his family and friends with items all summer. He was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Team Fan. He enjoyed the company of his two cats Weejr and Boo Boo. Dayne was a 3rd degree Black Belt instructor at A.T.A in Slippery Rock. He was a member of the G.E Golf and Pine Grove Gulf Leagues.
Loved ones to cherish Dayne’s memory are his son Dayne Herr Jr. of Harrisville, his brother Gary Herr of Cowansville, his grandchildren Dayne W. Herr III of Harmony and Hayden E. Herr of Harmony. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Dayne is preceded in death by his parents, wife and his son Aaron Herr who passed away April 19, 2017.
Family will welcome friends at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville PA on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. till noon. Funeral services will start at noon with the Rev. Terry West officiating the funeral service.
Burial will take place at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to St. Jude Research Hospital.
