Deborah Lynn Evans, age 63, of Belleville, MI, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at her home, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born October 20, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Slippery Rock High School, class of 1976, and then earned her Associate degree. Debbie worked for Stantec in Ann Arbor, MI, for over 34 years. She attended Northridge Church, Plymouth, MI, where she enjoyed helping with the Prison Ministry and in Guest Services. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and shopping. She was a huge Beatles fan and was a top fan of the Toppermost Beatles Tribute, where she helped with sound and selling tee shirts. Debbie also loved animals, and dancing. She used to be a member of a line-dance group, and a clogging group as well.
Ms. Evans is survived by her parents M. Wanda (Charles R.) Ruggles of Mercer, Pennsylvania, fiancé Marty Stawkey of Belleville, MI, two cats: Jackson and Stella, two children she sponsored in Zambia, also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by two preemies: Christina Marie Evans and Ryan Patrick Evans.
Visitation will be Wednesday 11:30-1 PM and 3-5 PM with a 5:00 PM Funeral at David C. Brown Funeral Home, 460 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, MI 48111 (734)697-4500. Pastor Wayne Kurtycz will officiate. Debbie will be carefully taken to Harrisville, Pennsylvania, for services at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville PA on Saturday, 1:00-3:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Willard Morse will be officiating the service and burial will take place at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to World Vision or FMAR (Friends of Michigan Animal Rescue) and would be appreciated.
