Donna “Imogene” Sloan, 94, of Grove City, passed away February 27, 2021.
Imogene was born January 6, 1927 in Boyers, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph and E. Georgetta (Gaiser) Kiser.
Imogene graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1945. She married Harold B. Sloan on January 14, 1949. Together the couple had four children.
Imogene was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. She was an active member of Harmony Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Harrisville, where she was in the church choir, taught Sunday School for many years, and was part of the Quilting Circle. With love, she handmade quilts for each family member. Every Saturday, she baked homemade "Grandma Imy buns" and cinnamon rolls.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children: Deborah Thompson, Lynn Taylor and her husband Joe, Les Sloan and his wife Trisha, and Tim Sloan and his wife Vicki. Imogene’s grandchildren: Eric Taylor and his wife Krissy, Jodi D’Antonio and her husband Paul, Jedd Hess and his wife Sheila, Staci Dylewski and her husband Jon, Kristy Sturgill and her husband Dwain, Shelly Free and her husband John, Dan Thompson, Trevor Hipps and his wife Amber, Bret Sloan and his wife Janelle, and Ashley Smith and her husband Dave. Nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Imogene’s sister Kathy Barron also survives.
Imogene was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, husband, her sisters Gloria Bartoe and Janet Norris, her twin brother Gene Kiser, and her infant brother Joseph Kiser.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place at East Unity Cemetery. The Jamison-McKinley Funeral Home in Harrisville is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family suggests memorial donations be sent to the East Unity Cemetery Association, 489 Indian Rock Road, Emlenton, PA 16373 or to the Harmony Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 234 North Main Street, Harrisville, PA 16038 in Imogene’s memory.
