Gwendolyn Dawn (Agostino) Cihonski, 72, of Harrisville passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at her home.
Gwen was born January 21, 1951 in Grove City. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Shirley (Stillwagon) Agostino.
Gwen graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1968. She was married Louis “Lou” Cihonski on June 27, 1970. Gwen worked for the Slippery Rock School system for over 30 years before retiring. Everyone that knew Gwen knew that her family was the most important thing in her life. She cherished her family gatherings and would tell anyone who would listen just how proud she was of all her grandchildren. She was always quick to make you laugh, but even quicker on giving you a hug. She battled many health issues in her later years, but could always be seen with a smile and tender and caring heart. While all of her family and friends will miss her greatly, they take comfort in knowing she is happy and healthy serving as their guardian angel from above. She loved to watch the birds and every time we see a robin or a cardinal we will know she is watching over all us.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her husband Louis Cihonski of their home in Harrisville; her children Patrick Cihonski and his wife Erica of Prospect, Douglas Cihonski of Harrisville and Shelby Rawson and her husband Lane of Slippery Rock; the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Arianna Wilson, McKenna Rawson and Aiden and Adler Cihonski. Gwen’s sister Connie Osburn and her husband Edward of Forestville and her brother Mike Agostino and his wife Crystal of Harrisville also survive along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Shirley and her sister Sherry Leone.
The family is planning a memorial service for a later date. The Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, Harrisville, PA, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family ask memorials be made to the Butler County Humane Society or a cancer support organization of one’s choice.
