Ina "Betty" Himes

Ina Elizabeth (Betty) Himes, 85, of Grove City passed away on June 15, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer.

Betty was born August 6, 1936 in Grove City to the late John and Ina (Eaton) Wallwork.

She was a graduate of Grove City High School, class of 1954.

Betty married Donald Himes June 9, 1956.  They recently celebrated their 66th anniversary.

Betty previously worked at Montgomery Wards and as custodian for her church.  She was very involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives serving as scout leader and band mom.  She was a previous member of the White Shrine #53, Eastern Star of Grove City and the Grove City Bowling Leagues. 

Betty was a member of Christ Covenant Church in Harrisville.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and was anticipating the birth of her first great grandson.

Surviving her husband Donald at home, daughter Dana (Steven) Roman of Harrisville, son Timothy (Geri) Himes of Titusville, granddaughters Kaylyn Heckathron and Cheyanne Rasp; step grandchildren Angela Simmer, Scott Roman, Linsey Stearns and Dan Stearns, six step great grandchildren, 5 step great-great grandchildren Betty’s sister-in-law Etta Elliott of Butler also survives.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents.

The family would like to thank the staff of AHN Hospice for their care and assistance during Betty’s final days.  She touched the lives of so many with her love and kindness.  We will miss her so much!

Betty’s family will receive friends at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville PA on Monday, June 20th from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will take place Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Terry West officiating.
