J. Miles McSweeny
Obituary
J. Miles McSweeny, age 89 of Stuart, FL, entered his heavenly home on February 20, 2021, from his residence with his daughters beside him.
He was born to Joseph Miles and Katharine McSweeny on November 25, 1931, in Wilkinsburg, PA, and married his lifetime sweetheart Alice Seaton Rea on August 28, 1950. They moved to the Treasure Coast in 1972.
Miles was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Stuart, serving as an elder two separate times. After retiring from AT & T, Miles worked for H & R Block for more than ten years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice in 2015. He is survived by his daughters; Dorothy ((John) Brennan of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, Katharine (Harry) Snyder of Elgin, IL, and Melanie (David) MacLean of Oswego, NY. He is also survived by his beloved brother, James B. McSweeny of Verona, PA; 11 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren; all of whom will miss his godly example and daily prayers for them.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or Treasure Coast Hospice.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 10AM to 11AM with a service to begin at 11AM at Jamison-McKinley Funeral Home 117 N. Main Street Harrisville, PA 16038. Burial will follow at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville, PA.
