Marilyn Barsotti Obituary

Marilyn Barsotti, 77, of Grove City, passed away at home on Monday, September 23, 2024, following a brief illness.

Born February 1, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Marilyn was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Eberlien.

Marilyn graduated from Mt. Alvernia High School; she continued her education to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Marilyn had a profound love of God and her family.  She always taught all about kindness, love, strength, compassion and humility.  Our Lord and Savior broke the mold with this creation.  She would spread the word of God to whoever wanted to learn or extend their knowledge and help anyone that has felt hopeless and needed insight.

On July 31, 1965, Marilyn married Joseph V. Barsotti who preceded her in death on April 27, 2021.

Marilyn retired after 30 years as a CNA. This was a fulfilling career for her and allowed her compassion to help many others that couldn’t help themselves.  Her laughter and personality would light up a room.  She was a union delegate for 1199, where she continued to stand up for the rights of others.

Many years prior to her CNA career, she was a stay at home mom of five children and would assist her husband with the Barsotti Bakery business.  She filled her home with love and always welcomed anyone with open arms.

Marilyn was dedicated to her love of volleyball for many years; gardening, playing hand and foot with family and friends.  She cherished celebrating holidays or milestones with her family and loved playing ping pong when she was younger, and was very good.

Loved ones left to cherish Marilyn’s memory are her children Vincent Barsotti of Pittsburgh, Mark (Angie) Barsotti of Erie, Matthew Barsotti of Pittsburgh and Angela (Kevin) Podvasnik of Grove City; her grandchildren Paul Barsotti, Kenneth Miller Jr., Kylie M. Miller, Brittany Barsotti, Sarah Barsotti, Emma Barsotti, Ethan Barsotti, Gabriel Barsotti, David Barsotti, Dean Barsotti, Reid Barsotti, Kelly Podvasnik, Kevin Podvasnik Jr. and Katie Podvasnik and thirteen great grand children.  Also surviving are Marilyn’s siblings John Eberlien Jr. of Harrisville, Nancy (Joe) Mitchell of Pittsburgh, Rose (Joe) Albertson of Grove City.

Along with her husband and parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son Christopher Barsotti, a sister Margie Kraska and three brothers David Eberlien, Mark Eberlien and Joseph Eberlien.

Family will receive friends at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  Marilyn’s funeral mass will take place at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 232 Boyers Road, Forestville, PA on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with father Adam Verona officiating.  Interment will follow at the St, Anthony Cemetery in Harrisville.
