Marjorie Ann (Sopher) Younkins

Marjorie Ann Younkins, 90, of Harrisville, passed away at home on April 14, 2023 following an extended illness.

Born on April 26, 1932, Marjorie was the daughter of the late David Murriel and Helen (Allen) Sopher.

Marjorie graduated from Grove City High School. She worked as telephone operator for several years then worked alongside her husband in their business, Younkin’s Plumbing and Heating.

On September 9, 1952, Marjorie married Eugene Younkins who she celebrated 70 years of marriage with.

Marjorie was a member of the American Legion and the White Shrine.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she was the most generous, loving grandmother and mother.  She took great enjoyment in having her kids and grandkids around and traveling with her husband.

Along with her husband Marjorie is survived by her daughter Gena Ann Humphrey and son Douglas Younkins both of Harrisville; her grandchildren Gabriel Humphrey, Brandi Humphrey and Mayla Lawry and a brother Donald Sopher.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, a son in law Greg Humphery and three sisters Shirley Vinton, Maxine Ryder and Patricia Westlake

A committal service and interment were held and Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
