Thomas Sweeney Obituary

Thomas Sweeney, 76 of Harrisville passed away April 13, 2022 at Grove City Hospital.

Tom was born July 1, 1945 in Grove City.  He was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Beck) Sweeney.

Tom graduated from Moniteau High School.  After graduation from high school, Tom enlisted into the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

Tom married Deborah Hillard in September of 1970; the couple celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to her passing on March 9, 2020.

He retired from Falcon Trucking.  Tom loved to go camping! He enjoyed spending time with his family especially those great grandchildren.    Earlier in life Tom liked to go fishing.  He and his sidekick Hogan where always up for family visits and looked forward to heading to camp. 

Loved ones to cherish Tom’s memory is his daughter Janice L. Craig and her husband Daryl, his grandchildren Kelsey Sweeney, Brandon Bailey and Regan Stalker, Corina L. Diehl, Kiana  Craig and Jordan Craig.  His great grandchildren Amirah Sweeney, Kameron Sweeney, Zaiden Sweeney, Barron Bailey and S.J. Pierce.  Tom’s brother also survives Danny Sweeney.  Tom’s side kick and favorite dog Hogan will miss him dearly.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Clarence and Frank Sweeney Jr., sisters Arizona Boyer, Katherine Bolen and Annabelle Cross.

Family will receive friends at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 11:00-1:00.  Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m.
